Lufthansa Technik proudly announces its role as a core development and supply partner for the next generation of business aviation cabins on the Embraer Praetor 500E and Praetor 600E. The collaboration delivers industry-first innovations such as a 42” curved OLED Smart Window™, a fully integrated Inflight Entertainment and Cabin Management System (IFE & CMS), the award-winning Omni-Fi membrane speakers, and a fully customized Embraer graphical user interface (GUI). In addition, a range of digital platform services has been introduced for the first time to enhance operational efficiency and the overall cabin experience.

Building on the successful collaboration for the Phenom 100EX and Phenom 300E, this program demonstrates the extensive collaboration between Embraer and Lufthansa Technik, spanning from early concept and industrial design through to system architecture, engineering, and production readiness and leading to jointly developed ground-breaking innovations for the business aviation market.

For the first time, Lufthansa Technik presents a first-of-its-kind OLED display, a 42” curved touchscreen integrated directly into the sidewall, serving as the base for Embraer’s industry-exclusive Smart Window™ technology. With access to three external cameras, it’s able to function as a window to the outside via fully integrated IFE & CMS. It also includes the new fully custom Embraer graphical user interface that manages every aspect of the cabin environment—from lighting and air conditioning to connectivity and wireless charging—ensuring an unparalleled passenger experience. With its Red Dot Design Award winning Omni-Fi speakers, Lufthansa Technik is bringing a fully immersive sound experience for various installation positions to the cabin. The exclusively licensed Ring-mode Converter/Transducer technology enables an extremely sleek design that does not compromise on sound quality thanks to optimal omnidirectional dispersion.

As the digital backbone of future operations, Lufthansa Technik’s digital ground portal enables seamless over‑the‑air updates, remote configuration capabilities, and scalable features that evolve with customer needs.

Lufthansa Technik has successfully delivered an Airbus ACJ319neo after VIP cabin completion to a private undisclosed customer. It also, marks a significant milestone in VIP aviation connectivity development: The aircraft, completed at Lufthansa Technik's base in Hamburg, is one of the first VIP completions worldwide to be delivered with the latest technology Gogo Galileo LEO (Low-Earth-Orbit) satellite internet connectivity solution utilizing the Eutelsat OneWeb network.  

The VIP cabin is showcasing finest bespoke cabin design produced by Lufthansa Technik’s VIP cabin completion center. It provides highest comfort for the passengers with a very quiet cabin. Additionally, the humidified and ionised cabin air supports the wellbeing of the passengers. The materials used are of finest quality, using inter alia real marblestone selected by the client. Thanks to its vast experience, Lufthansa Technik incorporated this material – not that common in aircraft cabin design - combining durability and lightness to perfectly suit the owner’s preferences.

The aircraft features an advanced Gogo Galileo system including cabin Wifi installed by Lufthansa Technik, providing very fast and reliable internet on board. Unlike traditional systems using faraway geostationary satellites, this system connects to OneWeb’s LowEarthOrbit satellites, being much closer to the aircraft. 

Because of this shorter distance, the connection offers higher speed, lower delay, and more stable performance. Passengers can enjoy smooth video calls, real-time data use, and uninterrupted online services anywhere in the world. The large number of LEO satellites also increases reliability, ensuring continuous connectivity throughout the flight. 

Lufthansa Technik has launched a dedicated upgrade program for the Airbus ACJ318 Elite. In line with this, the company will offer a tailored suite of enhancements designed to refresh and modernize the cabin environment of the smallest VIP type in the European planemaker’s popular A320 family. Lufthansa Technik’s VIP Center of Excellence in Hamburg will certify and deliver various modifications that bring the aircraft’s millennium-era interiors up to today’s highest standards. The portfolio will encompass both optical refurbishments and latest technical upgrades.

The ACJ318 Elite’s original VIP cabins were already exclusively designed and fitted by Lufthansa Technik between 2007 and 2015. Its airliner-sized fuselage diameter enabled a considerably spacious interior with areas for dining, lounging and offices, as well as amenities like a private bath and bedroom. While the Elite’s basic floor plan and cabin monuments were largely standardized to a 19-passenger layout, customers could choose from a broad variety of high-quality cabin materials. However, as expectations evolve and technology advances, Lufthansa Technik is now responding with a focused upgrade strategy that preserves the aircraft’s premium appeal while aligning it with today’s standards of luxury and connectivity.

To make the ACJ318 Elite future-proof and get it ready for many more years of smooth operation, the modernization work scope of Lufthansa Technik’s experts will not only encompass optical renewals, for example of wood veneers, carpets and upholstery. It can also include a replacement of the entire In-flight Entertainment (IFE) and onboard connectivity equipment. The IFE can for example be upgraded with new high-definition screens, speakers and a modernized cabin management. Connectivity onboard can moreover benefit from the installation of a state-of-the-art Low Earth Orbit (LEO) SatCom solution developed by Airbus Corporate Jets that lets passengers enjoy a much faster internet connection for office and entertainment applications.

Lufthansa Technik has miniaturized the technology behind its award-winning Hidden Touch Display in order to pave the way for a striking new form of user interface (UI) integration in aircraft cabins: The »nice intellitable«, to be presented at the Dubai Airshow, for the first time blends high-definition touchscreen functionality directly into the high-quality haptic surface of a folding tray table. The latter’s smart and intuitive display functions only appear on the passenger’s request and just as seamlessly vanish into the tray table’s thin foldable surface when no longer needed.

The »nice intellitable« represents a strategic further development of Lufthansa Technik’s Hidden Touch Display, which earlier this year already won a prestigious Red Dot Design Award. The technology’s clou is a remarkable fusion of high-quality look and feel surfaces with interactive functionality for the aircraft cabin. Customizable for surface appearances such as wood, carbon fiber or metal, to name just a few, all control interfaces can blend seamlessly into the interior design, providing passengers with an equally intuitive yet optically and haptically sophisticated control experience.

Compared to its wall-mounted predecessor, the fully customizable »nice intellitable« also broadens the spectrum of integrated control functionalities to a large extent. The current demonstrator integrates content such as flight information, a moving map, seat adjustment, a food and beverage preview and ordering system, music and video content players, and a flipping book for digital magazines. Once the tray table is needed in its original role as the surface for culinary delights, all hidden touch functions can be minimized to a space-saving design at the edge, or simply switched off. For this role, the smart surface is completely resistant to spilled fluids and mechanical forces from silverware or other hard items.

“Sometimes, there seems to be a disconnect between how airlines and VIP operators design their control solutions, and how their passengers actually interact with the cabin environment. To get rid of traditional control interfaces, which sometimes can feel bulky and outdated, we are permanently rethinking how technology integrates with interior design, creating more cohesive and natural interactions,” said Andrew Muirhead, Lufthansa Technik’s Vice President Original Equipment and Special Aircraft Services. “The »nice intellitable« exemplifies this approach, redefining VIP, but also commercial business or first class cabins, through more intuitive and seamless technology that puts both passenger experience and airline needs at the center.”

A demonstrator of the »nice intellitable« will be exhibited at Lufthansa Technik’s booth #1120 at the upcoming Dubai Airshow from November 17 to 21.

Lufthansa Technik has completed the VIP cabin outfitting of an Airbus ACJ319neo for an undisclosed private customer. The aircraft received its individual interior in a recent layover at Lufthansa Technik’s base in Hamburg. It is characterized by a modern, high-end design matching the customers’ unique wishes and aspirations. Additionally, it is the first new VIP cabin completion to feature the state of the art Gogo Galileo LEO (Low-Earth-Orbit) satellite internet connectivity solution.

The installation of the Gogo Galileo terminal enables access to high-speed broadband, allowing passengers to enjoy high-quality video conferencing, real-time data transfer, and other online services with low latency anywhere on Earth. Unlike traditional systems that rely on satellites in a geostationary orbit (GEO) at around 42,000 kilometers above Earth, the advanced electronically steered antenna connects with the Eutelsat OneWeb satellite network, orbiting at only 965 kilometers above Earth. The network resilience of the LEO constellation delivers consistent connectivity due to its larger number of satellites, enabling guests on board to remain productive, entertained, and relaxed.
