Flair Airlines becomes the second customer at Lufthansa Technik Canada’s facility
15-year LEAP-1B support agreement covers 18 aircraft
Full-scope Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem customer
Flair Airlines has signed a comprehensive 15-year exclusive agreement with Lufthansa Technik covering engine and digital services for its fleet of 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft powered by LEAP-1B* engines. The Canadian operator is the second major customer for the new engine repair station Lufthansa Technik Canada. The contract includes Engine Maintenance Services complemented by digital solutions from Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem, enabling data-driven maintenance and improved operational efficiency. The agreement marks a major milestone for Lufthansa Technik’s recently established subsidiary based in Calgary dedicated to servicing LEAP-1B engines.
Under the partnership, Lufthansa Technik will provide Flair Airlines with a fully integrated package of maintenance and digital solutions. The engine services are mainly provided in Calgary, Canada, supported by the global network in Hamburg, Germany, and in Wrocław, Poland. The digital services include AVIATAR Condition Monitoring, Predictive Health Analytics, and the Engineering Analytics Suite. Flair Airlines also deploys the eTLB (electronic Technical Logbook) of AMOS by Swiss AviationSoftware Ltd. and flydocs digital records and asset management. As a full customer of the Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem, Flair Airlines will benefit from comprehensive data coverage along the entire value stream in technical operations.

The agreement builds on the existing collaboration between Flair Airlines and Lufthansa Technik, which has included Total Component Support since 2019 for the entire fleet of 18 Boeing 737 MAX and two Boeing 737NG aircraft. In addition, Lufthansa Technik supplied Cyclean Engine Wash as well as occasional Mobile Engine Services events for LEAP-1B and CFM56-7B engines. The new contract, with 18 aircraft under contract and a 15-year term, marks the next step in a growing relationship and a shared commitment to innovation and reliability.
Since announcing its plans for a Calgary-based repair shop in February 2025, Lufthansa Technik Canada has grown to more than 80 employees, underscoring strong momentum and a long-term commitment to the region. Operations will continue at the interim facility while development progresses on a planned engine maintenance site at Calgary Airport, including Canada’s first test cell for next-generation aircraft engines. As part of the Mobile Engine Services network, the site plays a key role in Lufthansa Technik’s global engine services network by delivering LEAP-1B engine services closer to American customers.

* CFM LEAP Premier MRO shops are part of an open MRO ecosystem in which CFM, Premier MRO providers, and third-party shops compete for MRO work. Premier MRO licensees retain the highest level of training and support from CFM, as well as increased access to proprietary overhaul and repair technology.
