Lufthansa Technik and PSA Airlines extend long-standing collaboration

  • Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey to support PSA Airlines’ fleet of 154 CRJ aircraft
  • Renewed agreement covers comprehensive CF34-8 engine services
  • Cooperation builds on a 26-year customer relationship

Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, a wholly owned Lufthansa Technik subsidiary, and PSA Airlines have signed a new multi-year agreement for CF34-8 engine services. The contract marks the latest milestone in a customer relationship that has spanned more than 26 years.

PSA Airlines, one of North America’s largest regional airlines, operates a fleet of 60 CRJ700 and 94 CRJ900 aircraft powered by CF34-8 engines. Under the agreement, Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey will continue to provide a comprehensive range of services for the carrier’s CF34-8 engines, such as maintenance, performance restoration shop visits, on-site support, life limited part replacement shop visits and module shop visits. The cooperation is among the longest-standing customer relationships within Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey’s CF34 engine business. Over more than two decades, the partnership has evolved alongside PSA Airlines’ fleet growth and operational requirements, supporting the airline’s continued expansion.

Matthew Key, Vice President of Technical Operations Strategy and Sourcing at PSA Airlines, said: “Relationships like this don’t last 26 years because of contracts. They last because teams on both sides consistently do what they say they are going to do, support each other when challenges arise, and remain focused on delivering exceptional results. The trust that has been built over more than two decades is something we are very proud of.”

Judith Wedlich-Blender, Chief Operations Officer of Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, added: “Every engine we maintain in Alzey represents much more than a technical component. Behind every shop visit are aircraft, passengers and communities that rely on safe and reliable operations every day. We are proud to contribute to that mission together with PSA Airlines and look forward to continuing this partnership in the years ahead.”
